Oil on board, signed bottom left. Retaining its original Wallacks Gallery frame, titled verso. Measuring 11.5” x 15.5” (sight), 19.25” high x 23.5” wide (framed).                                                                                                         

Stanley Morel Cosgrove studied art at the Musee des Beaux Art in Montreal from 1931-1936 under the direction of Charles Maillard. He then studied under Edwin Holgate at the Art Association of Montreal. One of his most profound & inspirational experiences was while working as the assistant to the famous Mexican muralist Jose Clemente Orozco. He was made an associate of the Royal Academy of Canadian Artist in 1951 and became a full member in 1973. His work has been exhibited & represented in numerous galleries & museums throughout Canada and is held in several private & corporate collections.
