An Exceptionally Fine & Rare 19th Century ‘Russian Jasper’ / Chalcedony Trinket Box, Circa 1890 

 

The rectangular base & confirming hinged lid mounted with striking panels of Russian Jasper, exhibiting mottled striations in hues of russet, brown, black, grey etc. Each panel is faceted with a bevelled edge, intersected at all four corners of the base by triangular pillars of Russian serpentine. All mounted to a brass framework and raised overall upon four conical shaped supports. Demonstrating superior craftsmanship, materials & proportions, remaining in fine overall condition.

Measuring 2” high x 4.25” wide x 2.75” deep.
