‘Army & Navy’

 

A scarce 19th century coloured British military engraving by S.W. Reynolds after the original painting by John Prescott Knight, depicting Admiral Lord Nelson meeting with then Major General Sir Arthur Wellesley (later The Duke of Wellington). Both signatures shown respectively in the bottom margin, set within a cavetto molded wood frame. This meeting is believed to have taken place at the Colonial Office in London in 1805.
