A Very Good & Rare 18th Century Georgian Steel Footman, English / Irish Circa 1780
A very good 18th century steel footman having three flattened steel panels riveted to a frame with applied loop handles, raised overall on flattened rear supports & in-swept front supports with early forged welds, all joined by strap side rails riveted to a trio of rod shaped stretchers.
Dimensions, 13” high x 12” wide x 11” deep.
A great example of 18th century metal-ware, partially cleaned by hand but left unpolished in order to retain remnants of an original surface.
