A Very Good Glass Wine Carafe Bearing the Royal Cypher of King George V
The conical shaped body showing a neck with broad vertical flutes beneath a flaring rim, the midsection featuring an acid etched Royal Crown & Cypher for George V, former King of Great Britain (reigned 1910-1936). The inverted underside engraved with star cut detail, surface abrasions on the foot-rim consistent with its age & use. Height, 8.5”
Most likely manufactured by Royal Brierley Crystal (formerly Stevens & Williams) who in 1919 were awarded their 1st Royal Warrant as Glassmakers to the British Royal Family by King George V.
