A Very Good Georgian Brass-Bound Mahogany Writing Box, England Circa 1820

The case constructed of finely grained & richly figured Honduran mahogany bound with brass mounts and fitted with flush mounted carrying handles – one affixed to a small drawer. The brass strung top opening to a fitted interior housing an inkwell & pounce pot, pen tray and hinged leather-lined writing panels fronting open compartments – one fitted with secret drawers. Dimensions, 7.75” high x 19.5” wide x 11” deep.
Exhibits exceptional colour and a fine patina overall.
