A Very Good 19th Century Mahogany Tea Caddy, Scottish / English Circa 1835
The case constructed of richly figured mahogany panels accented with crossbanded detail, the hinged top opening to a fitted interior housing twin tea canisters flanking a fine cut-glass mixing bowl. The exterior retaining its original bone escutcheon fronting its functioning lock mechanism & key and exhibiting a fine patina and French-polished finish overall, the underside showing a very old if not original red paper lining. Raised upon four compressed bun feet.
