A Very Fine Pair of George III Sterling Silver Tea Caddies by Thomas Daniel, London 1775
Both ovoid shaped bodies embossed with laurel swags & scrolled motifs and centred by engraved chalice-like vessels within a scrolling cartouche, their interiors richly gilded and fitted with fluted lids terminating to flame finials. The underside of both bases bearing full hallmarks consistent with those found on their lids albeit partially rubbed. Height, 8”. Combined weight, 508 grams.
