    A Very Fine & Large George III ‘Old Sheffield Plate’ Lidded Soup Tureen, England Circa 1800
    The bellied oval body rising to a gadrooned rim and foliate cast handles, one side bearing a large ‘let-in’ sterling silver lozenge engraved with a Heraldic crest, coat-of-arms and motto UBI AMOR IBI FIDES (‘Where there is Love there is Faith’), complimented on the opposing side by a blank sterling silver lozenge suitable for engraving. Fitted with a conforming domed lid with gadrooned decoration and a detachable handle, raised overall upon four robust foliate cast, scrolled supports.
