A Very Fine Japanese Satsuma ‘Dragonware’ Baluster Vase. Meiji Period (1868-1912)
The body richly decorated overall in hand painted gilt detail, interspersed by finely executed painted portraits of scholars and warriors, the image of a dragon painted in white enamel encircles the lower section. The underside signed in characters for famed Japanese potter Wada Touzan-zou (Kotoura-gama).
