A Superior Pair of Georgian Inlaid Mahogany Knife Boxes, English Circa 1790
Both of serpentine form with oval escutcheons (possibly Paktong), their tops centred by marquetry stars comprised of contrasting ebony & bone segments within banded & chevron strung borders, repeated on the reverse in exotic woods, their interiors fitted with later cutlery panels and what appear to be original locks, raised overall atop cast metal ball & claw feet.
