A Pair of Georgian Neoclassical Sterling Silver Dwarf Candlesticks, Sheffield 1776
A pair of 18th century dwarf candlesticks in the neoclassical taste, showing urn-shaped nozzles fitted with beaded drip pans and rising from squared bases, decorated with embossed Neoclassical motifs of festooned swags, urns, and palmettes. The weighted bases bearing hallmarks & partially rubbed makers marks for John Winter & Co. Both with early repairs but structurally very stable, one drip pan is presently seized inside the nozzle. Dimensions, 4.5” high x 3” wide x 3” deep.
