A Fine Signed Japanese White Lacquer & Maki-e Lacquer Tansu, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
The case’s exterior decorated with a crackle-glaze white lacquer, fitted with three banks of small drawers - the upper two comprised of two short off-set drawers with organic inspired metal pulls, the lower drawer fitted with a patinated metal bail handle. The front decorated in gold maki-e lacquer depicting a finch flying among flowering branches. Signed in characters on the underside. Dimensions, 6” x 6” x 3.25”
