A Fine Regency Period Writing Table / Sofa Table in Rosewood, English Circa 1825

A fine early 19th century George IV period writing table / sofa table in rosewood, the richly figured frame showing a replaced gilt-tooled dark green leather top featuring an elevating reading platform, overtop a frieze fitted with three small drawers retaining their original functioning locks, raised on twin flattened supports braced by a finely turned stretcher, terminating to replaced cupped feet with recessed brass castors. Exhibiting exceptional graining & colour overall and refinished with a fine ‘French’ polish. Dimensions, 28.5” high x 34.5” wide x 17.5” deep.
