  • A Fine George V Sterling Silver & Glass Claret Jug, Hallmarked London 1933
    The glass body rising from a flattened base with a starburst cut motif, affixed to a richly cast sterling silver collar depicting bacchanal themes of masks, grape clusters & tendrils and bearing hallmarks & maker’s marks for Charles Boyton & Sons. The hinged lid also bearing hallmarks and terminating to a ‘lion rampant’ finial bracing a shield-shaped cartouche, affixed to a swept and textured silver handle.
    Height, 11”. In excellent condition overall.
    (As noted above, the shield-shaped cartouche remains blank making it suitable for engraving of a monogram or an initial).
