A Fine 19th Century Ruby Glass Spirit Decanter with Sterling Silver Collar & Stopper, Sheffield 1847
The tapering ruby glass body fitted with a sterling silver collared spout and detachable stopper, bearing impressed hallmarks and makers marks for Roberts & Slater. Height, 14.5”.
The firm of Samuel Roberts & Joseph Slater produced wares of a very high order, however they were in production for a relatively short period of time (1845-1858), consequently examples of their fine work are seldom found.
