A Very Good 19th Century Silverplated Sugar Bowl by B. Buch, Poland Circa 1880
The oval body sided by open handles, decorated front & back with neoclassical inspired panels of griffons flanking an oval cartouche, fitted with a conforming hinged lid with fluted detail and raised overall upon four foliate shaped supports. The underside bearing impressed marks for B. Buch Warsaw.
Dimensions, 5” high x 7.5” wide x 4.5” deepBuch was first established in 1809 in St. Petersburg Russia, later opening a factory in Warsaw in 1860. They were awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the 1872 Moscow Exhibition.
