A Very Fine & Heavy Portuguese Silver (.833 fine) Rococo Revival Centrepiece, Post 1938
The expansive lobed bowl partially engraved with foliate motifs rising to a scalloped rim decorated with gadroon & shell detail, supported by a figural column in the form of a putto standing atop a similarly engraved & conforming base raised on four scrolled supports. The bowl & base bearing impressed silver marks, makers marks & town marks for Porto. In excellent overall condition.
Dimensions, 14.5” high x 10.25” diameter. Weight, 2584 grams (83 troy ounces)
