    A fine and diminutive 18th century Neoclassical sterling silver coffee tea urn, showing an urn-shaped body fitted with a detachable lid and sided by reeded swept handles with acanthus shaped mounts, the spigot retaining its original carved ivory finial. The front engraved with period decoration of swags and garlands above a monogrammed oval cartouche, the lid similarly monogrammed detail. Raised overall upon a spreading circular foot atop a squared base with ball shaped supports, the underside bearing impressed London hallmarks and date marks for 1783, maker’s marks illegible. Height, 14.5”.Weight 40 troy ounces (1248 grams).
