A Very Good and Highly Figured 19th Century Biedermeier Bureau-Commode in Walnut. The canted top with an ebonized trim, over four tiers of drawers with highly figured fronts and original hardware, the uppermost with a drop down mechanism opening to a galleried and ebonized writing surface backed by small drawers. Raised overall upon block supports atop ebonized feet. Austria, Circa 1825. Height: 38.5” Width: 49.5” Depth: 24.5” SOLD

A 17th Century Style Wrought Iron Faldistorium or ‘Bishop’s Chair’. The gilded, X -shaped folding frame having a tanned-hide back, armrests and seat, the brass feet and finials of compressed form. Italy, Mid 20th Century. Height: 28.5” Width: 42” Depth: 18” (The Faldistorium was introduced in the 16th century and was intended for ecclesiastical use. When viewed from the front the supports form an X, considered then as an interpretation and affirmation of authority)

An Exceptionally Fine Neoclassical Style Walnut and Marquetry Commode Executed in the Manner of Giuseppe Maggiolini.

The case showing three tiers of full width drawers richly inlaid with neoclassical elements and retaining their original brasses, the top and sides similarly decorated with inlaid marquetry panels. Raised overall atop squared and tapering inlaid supports.

The case showing diamond-shaped strung motifs on the top and sides, fitted with 3 tiers of drawers, their fronts similarly decorated and fitted with brass back-plates and ring pulls. An 18th Century Style Diamond-Point Normandy Armoire. The stepped cornice above 3 full-length, diamond point panelled doors fronting a shelved interior. Raised on bun shaped feet. Continental, Circa 1900. Height - 77" Width - 88" Depth — 26.5".

A Very Fine Baroque Period Walnut & Parquetry Commode. The case showing a rectilinear-shaped and highly figured panelled top above three tiers of conforming full width drawers, their fronts similarly panelled and fitted with later rococo-style gilt brasses. An Exceptional 18th Century Neoclassical Parquetry & Marquetry Commode in Kingwood, Mahogany, Walnut & Satinwood. The original sienna marble top within a gilded gesso molding over a pair of full width drawers retaining their original mercury gilded pulls, their fronts inlaid with romantic and mythological themes, the sides similarly decorated. Raised overall atop four inlaid, tapering supports terminating to gilt-gesso feet. Italy, Probably Naples. Circa 1780. Height - 36.5" Width - 48" Depth - 22".

A Fine 19th Century Sofa Table in Walnut.. The top showing a pair of drop leaves above a richly figured frieze containing a single drawer on one side and a "dummy" drawer on the opposing, raised overall upon twin splayed supports decorated with classically carved elements braced by a flattened stretcher. This piece exhibits a remarkable honeyed colouration overall. Danish. Circa 1820. Height - 28.5", Depth - 29", Length - 40" (57" open).
